An additional protective coating of Sodium Silicate can be applied after Chromate-Conversion. Also known as water glass or liquid glass, Sodium Silicate dries to form a slightly opaque coating that can further increase the level of corrosion protection achieved on your valuable components.   

Typical applications tend to be smaller items such as hydraulic fittings and “predator trap” components where an increased level of corrosion resistance is required. 

As sodium silicate dries to form an opaque coating it may dull the brightness of the zinc plating and may not be suitable when the preference is for an aesthetically pleasing finish.
